Class Projects for High School and College Students
Class Project 1
Google the word “retard.” Note how many “hits” are shown. Sample the websites of the first three pages for this word. Determine the percentage of sites that portray people with developmental disabilities in a negative light.
Class Project 2
Volunteer at the local Arc chapter in your area. Help take this campaign for Dignity and Respect to your entire community. Join our social network through Twitter, MySpace and Facebook.
Class Project 3
View the Public Service Announcements and video clips and show the ones you like to your classmates.
